ADAKC is offering the Virtual Dementia Tour, a powerful, hands-on training experience that puts you inside the world of someone living with dementia, completely free to Kern County caregivers. The Virtual Dementia Tour isn't a lecture. It's an experience. Participants wear sensory accessories that simulate what dementia feels like from the inside, then spend time with our facilitator unpacking what that means for the person you care for every day.

Thanks to our community partner Kern Family Health Care for their support in bringing this education directly to our community. If you're caring for someone with Alzheimer's or another form of dementia in Kern County, this one's for you. Sessions are available now! Call us to register at 661-665-8871.

ADAKC recently visited The Prado Senior Center, where Jose Sosa led an educational class for seniors, sharing helpful information and resources to support brain health, dementia awareness, and caregiver education. 💙

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with community members, answer questions, and continue bringing support directly to seniors and families throughout Kern County.

As part of the class, grocery gift cards were also raffled off for seniors in attendance.

Through her story, Comer gives voice to the love, grief, resilience, and daily challenges that so many caregivers experience but may not always know how to express.

As part of ADAKC’s countywide model, we are expanding caregiver education and support through workshops, digital resources, new diagnosis tools, Spanish-language resources, and regional and virtual support groups.

Our goal is to make support more accessible for families throughout Kern County, including rural communities and families who may not have been able to access services tied to one location.

No caregiver should feel alone in this journey.
