Country singer-songwriter Jay Allen helped celebrate the 40th anniversary of the non-profit Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Kern County (ADAKC) this month, Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.
Allen is directly affected by Alzheimer’s, losing his mother in 2019 to the disease. He is known for his Alzheimer’s advocacy, raising millions of dollars for Alzheimer’s awareness. Allen is known for his 2018 hit, “Blank Stares,” which is a tribute to his mother, according to a press release.
“ADAKC is celebrating 40 years as a local nonprofit serving Kern County families on the Alzheimer’s journey,” stated ADKAC Executive Director Janelle Capra.
“Jay Allen is the perfect choice for our cause and we are thrilled to have him perform at the iconic Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace to more than 400 of his new Bakersfield friends.”
