ADAKC Waives Assessment Fees in Honor of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month

November promotion helps families access personalized dementia care with no upfront cost

In recognition of November as Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, the Alzheimer’s Disease
Association of Kern County, Inc. (ADAKC) is waiving its $150 assessment fee for all new clients
throughout the month. This special promotion provides families an opportunity to explore
ADAKC’s person-centered Adult Day Program—with no cost upfront.

“This is an invitation for families to experience ADAKC’s compassionate, individualized
approach to dementia care,” said Tamara Baker, Executive Director of ADAKC. “We know how
overwhelming it can feel to navigate this journey. By waiving the assessment fee, we hope to
make it easier for families to take that first step toward support and connection.”

After the initial free assessment, approved participants may enroll in ADAKC’s Adult Day
Program for just $20 per hour, an all-inclusive rate that covers every aspect of care—something
that sets ADAKC apart from most memory care settings. Participants in the program do not
have to have a diagnosis of dementia or Alzheimer’s. ADAKC’s services help anyone with major
neurocognitive disorders if they are over the age of 18.

A Truly All-Inclusive Approach

Unlike many programs that charge extra for basic care needs, ADAKC’s rate includes
comprehensive support services tailored to each participant’s individual needs, at no additional
cost. Each client receives a personalized assessment and care plan designed to promote
engagement, comfort, and dignity.

ADAKC’s all-inclusive care includes but is not limited to:

  • Tailored meals based on dietary requirements
  • Restroom assistance
  • Behavior management
  • Feeding assistance

“Our goal is to meet people where they are—honoring each person’s history, preferences, and
abilities,” Baker added. “We’re proud to provide care that’s both affordable and deeply
personalized.”
